Great, Grubby Garden

In this super garden, we do lots of fun activities. Today we dried rosemary and thyme, read and recorded the temperature of the soil, harvested turnips, chilli and beans, mulched the soil and planted celery seedlings. We actually found a cut worm which is very harmful to plants. To dry thyme and rosemary, you cut it, tie four in a bunch and suspend it in bags.We cut holes in the bags so we could see the thyme and rosemary as it dries. They looked like little charms.

Kitchen Garden Program – Kitchen Class

In the kitchen we made even more great dishes . We found out that large turnips taste way more bitter than the small ones. We also found out that pomegranetes are extremely healthy, we made cheese and herb bread, cous cous with turnip and silverbeet, apple and quinoa muffins, eggplant with tahini and yoghurt sauce and salad with fresh greens.
