We welcome your interest and enthusiasm in helping us create strong communities of gardeners and chefs. An essential life vocation that helps us connect with ourselves, each other and the world around us. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Please read the following letter and find links to the kitchen and garden classes.<\/p>\n

Dear\u00a0Year 4 and 5 Families,<\/p>\n

In our Kitchen Garden Program our aim is to enable students to transfer their skills and knowledge to their own family and friends and help foster a lifelong appreciation of the impact we make on the world by our food choices.<\/p>\n

We appreciate those that have volunteered in the past and encourage interested parents, grandparents, older siblings and friends to come and explore the wonderful kitchen and garden spaces. Volunteers will assist with the hands-on learning through supervising small groups of children.\u00a0There is no need to have specific knowledge because you will be learning alongside the students.<\/p>\n

Volunteers for the garden classes are needed for 60mins. Volunteers for the kitchen classes are needed for a minimum of 90mins.\u00a0It\u00a0is an easy process, using the below links\u00a0you can sign up to classes on a regular bases.<\/p>\n

Parent and grandparent volunteers offer a huge resource and support base for the school community while showing their children the importance of participating in the\u00a0 wider \u00a0community.<\/p>\n

Not only will the school reap the benefits of your involvement \u2014 you will, too. By interacting with teachers and other parents on a regular basis, you’ll gain a firsthand understanding of your child’s daily activities. You’ll also tap into trends and fads of school life that can help you communicate with your children as they grow and change (all without intruding on their privacy or personal space).<\/p>\n

Even if you haven’t been involved in the past, it’s never too late to start. Remember that volunteering not only benefits your children, but will enrich the classroom, the whole school, and the entire community by providing students with positive interaction, support, and encouragement.<\/p>\n

In Year 4 and 5 we particularly need volunteers on the days when your child is working in either kitchen or the garden. On the CLE- \u2018Kitchen Garden\u2019 page you will find a \u2018volunteer\u2019 section in which you can submit your name, once, twice or ongoing. \u00a0These programs rely on our volunteers to assist the students in learning new skills that requires many hand and the benefits are mutual!<\/p>\n
